Stop complaining and DO something about it!
We have all seen the posts. The ones where they are complaining because Facebook has decided to change it up and not allow all our posts reach to those potential clients that have LIKED our page! Well guess what? Facebook is a free platform for us small business to advertise!! Did you get that? It’s FREE! This means you do not have to pay them if you do not want to! I know, I know. Your thinking, but these people have shown interest in my page and I think they should be able to see anything and everything I post! Like the one below for example. I have over 4k fans that have liked my page. Now look below the image and it tells you how many people it has reached. 417? out of 4k + fans….Do I wish it reached more people? You bet your bottom I do. But I’m not going to sit on Facebook and complain because it didn’t.
Your fans are able to see your work if they want to though.
All they have to do is go to your page! You know, the FREE one they allow us to have.
Instead of worrying about Facebook’s free platform, and not reaching your 25K fans, maybe you should be investing your time in SEO and getting your website on the front page of Google! There are some really great articles out there to help you in this area if you just thought, “What in the world is SEO” ? I can’t say enough positive things about Zach Prez! His expertise in SEO is what helped get my business in the front page of google.
I have circled the number of times I am on each front page of google for my keywords. The three google searches were “Colorado Springs Newborn Photographer, Colorado Springs Maternity Photographer, and Colorado Springs Child Photographer”. And you can see my business 3x times on the front page! Now why in the world would I waste my time complaining about Facebooks reach again?
I want potential clients to find me and this means taking the time to write important keywords on our website. Blogging. And maybe investing a little marketing money and doing an Adwords campaign. Did you know I get 80% of my clients through Google searches! Its because I have invested my time in making sure I am on the front page of google for my keywords.
Don’t get me wrong. There are ways to use Facebook to your best potential. I do. When there is something I really want potential clients to see, guess what….I pay Facebook to sponsor my ad. You need to be careful with this one too! Before sponsoring an ad, you must first make sure the context is relevant to what you are wanting to bring in. And when setting up your ad, you must select where you want your reach to be. City, State, or Worldwide reach. Men, Women or both? What age group are you looking to bring in? All these selections play a role in the clients that will be reached in your sponsored ad.
So instead of worrying if Facebook is going to bring in more clients, or getting into a “LIKE” my post because I want people to think i”m important frenzy. Go blog or update your website.
Now STOP complaining and go do something about it!
